Systems Engineer - Full Time

Develop and implement a System Model for our customers from the automotive or silicon industry using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches. Perform trade studies and best practices evaluations to design a model which will be scalable as the project progresses from research and development to production. Use innovative methods to document/maintain requirements and automate interfaces using languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar. 

Work as part of a dynamic and cross-functional team of engineers to develop and document the project Requirements Infrastructure, System Architecture, and Interface Definition.

Your Background: BS in Computer, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience). We require strong English skills (both in writing and spoken language).

Technical Requirements

  • Experienced with architecture definition and test development for complex systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of systems modeling languages (e.g., SysML, UML). 
  • Experienced with architecture definition and test development for complex systems.
  • Skilled in programming with an OOP language (e.g. Python, C++) including processing of structured data and models.
  • Proficient with common API architecture implementations (e.g. REST). 
  • Experienced with defining/integrating toolchains for technical development. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Performing analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation,
    operation, maintenance and disposal. 
  • Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into a system model that acknowledges technical,
    schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Engaging with other teams for functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies to create interface definitions and functional description documents.
  • Defining the tool chain and implementing software tools and processes for a system model.
  • Mentoring other engineers and advocating for MBSE tools and techniques.

Ideally, you are experienced in the following areas:

  • Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle processes, including scheduling, program management, and forecasting.
  • Experience with database development and import/export scripting.
  • Defining the tool chain and implementing software tools and processes for a system model.
  • Mentoring other engineers and advocating for MBSE tools and techniques.
